Variation on a theme ~ B is for Boy

I have two boys, both as different as night and day.  When I make a super cute layout for one,  I always feel guilty relpicating it for the other. So I tried something different this time. I love the theme of  these layouts and just look how very different they look even though I used the same titles and cuts!

For this layout, I used K&Company’s, Donna Ingemanson - Rough and Tumble Stack. The title is cut from the Life is a Beach Cartridge. The snail and dog are from B is for Boy (I flipped both images for this one). I also ran the snail’s body through my Cuttlebug for some texture.

This layout uses Basic Greys Max & Whiskers line from Lil' Lamb’s Boutique. Same cuts as the previous layout (not flipped). I inked them to match the paper. I welded the title (love that Gypsy) using the All Mixed Up cartridge.

Basic Grey ~ My very first time!

I've been working with Basic Grey Kits from Lil' Lamb's Boutique for the very first time and am having a blast.  The first layout is from the Max & Whiskers line.  I was a bit stumped at first as to what I was going to do with the dog papers, as we don't have a dog!  Then I remembered my son's first Halloween and voila - a layout is born!

I use the left over bits and made a couple of adorable cards.  The dog is cut from my favorite cartridge "Create a Critter".  So Cute.

The next layout if from the Nook & Pantry line.  I love this line because of its food/kitchen theme and it is so easy to be "punny" with food.

I used the Preserves cartridge to cut the pears and Plantin School Book for the title.  To see this layout in closer detail visit the Blog at Lil' Lamb's Boutique.

The Hub's Birthday Gift - With the Cuttlebug!

A couple of month's back I posted a Harley Davidson card I made for friends birthday!   I used silver metalic paper and the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate embossing folder.  When my husband saw it he thought it was actually metal!  He said it would be really cool to have a wall hanging like that so that is what he is getting for his birthday!  Here is how it turned out!

I just know he is going to love it!  Happy Birthday Honey!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Take me out...

It is high baseball season at out house.  I've got two boys, who are each on two teams (league and an all stars traveling teams).  Because they are a year  apart, they are on different teams.  It's pretty much baseball 24/7!  So when my office bought a chair for an auction benifiting a local Retirement Home Foundation - I knew it had to be baseball themed!  The chairs are clear pine when we get them and we have free reign to decorate them however we want.  Here is what I came up with!

After I painted it,  I used the Gypsy font & Pooh font for the "lil' Slugger in white vinyl.

I used brown and white vinyl for the diamond which I cut from the Baseball cartridge. I did alter the diamond a bit on my gypsy.  I used the new "hide contours" feature, because the original cut had base lines and I didn't want them to show. I had to cut the vinyl (in between the slats) after I put it on the chair.  A bit tricky but it worked perfectly.

The decals on the back are actually images I found on the internet, which I printed (mirror image) on to tranparencies.  I then just "rubbed" them on to the wood and clear coated the to make them stay put.

I am quite pleased with how this turned out. I am going to hang a little tiny glove on the arm of the chair and a tiny little baseball cap on the top. I hope it gets lots of bids and makes lots of money for the foundation!

Oh and I also cut out vinyl base balls with my boys names and numbers for the back of my van.  Gotta be representin', right?  My daughter is in choir and band, so I gotta show her  some love too!  I did all of these with my gypsy.  The balls are from the Sports Mania cartridge and the font is the Pooh font. Sarahs is from the Hannah Montana cartridge.  Man, I love my cricut!

Cricut Episode 1 ~ Create a Critter Layout

Wow ~ my very first video!  Please forgive my mistakes and stumbling narrative, I promise to get better!

Here's a super quick and easy layout using SEI's Zoo Pals paper and my new fav cartridge Create a Critter.  The video was getting too long so I did not show the title cut which I welded on my Gypsy using the Hannah Montana cartridge.  I gotta get a better editing program so I can speed through the tedious parts!

Here is the finished layout ~ I did add some prima leaves!

Sweet Love

Sometimes you run across a a set of papers that are so pretty that you really don't have to do much to them to pake a pretty layout.  That is just the cast with Little Yellow Bicycle Sweet Love Paper Kit from Lil' Lamb's Boutique.  These papers are shimmery, with just a touch of glitter.  So pretty!

A Fathers Day Challenge

Robyn, over at My Pink Stamper issued a challenge to her followers to create a Fathers Day card (or something masculine) using the colors brown green and yellow.  I hadn't yet made the hub's fathers day card so this was perfect to get me going.

Base is an A2 card size cut from Bo Bunny Double Dot in Mint green
Brown Layer is cut at 5.25 x 4 inches ~ DCWV Green Stack

Create a Critter Accessories ~ Too Cute!

You know those pictures that make you giggle every time you see them?  Well these are a couple that do it to me every time.  I dressed my son up like a carrot for his first halloween.

And who knew that the Create A Critter Carrot would be perfect for a Halloween Layout?

I just love these pictures and the layout turned out so cute!

The orange paper is Bo Bunny Double Dot and the patterened paper is from a Halloween stack I got at Walmart a few years back.  The spider web is a border punch from Martha Stewart.  The title is cut from the Hello Kitty Greetings Cartridge.  I welded the base shadow together.  Super simple.

Pink Paislee ~ So Pretty!

Like I said in the last post I just adore this KOTM from Lil' Lamb's Boutique and I am a little sad that all of my Pink Paislee ~ Queen Bee Delux kit is gone. :(    I was able to make another layout using the Cricut Create a Critter and the Keystone Font Cartridge.  The embelishments in this kit are amazing, especial the Prima Say it in Pearls and Roses!

I just love the way this layout turned out.  Although the embellies are a bit feminine, the colors just felt masculine so it worked out perfect for my sweet little son! And the Create a Critter bee and hive are soooo cute!  I took all the left over bits and made this card.

I used the Preserves Cartridge for the Pear.  Isn't it just the cutest?  The sentiment is from the Clear Dollar set Tangy Trio.  I spritzed the Prima Leaf with Psst... Shimmer Spritz  Gold to add just a bit of glitz and finished it off with a cream colored sateen bow!

If you want to see the layout in closer detail simply visit the Blog at Lil' Lambs Boutique.

Pink Paislee Queen Bee

I design for Lil' Lamb's Boutique and recently recieved the Pink Paislee ~ Queen Bee ~Deluxe Scrapbook Kit in the mail.  The colors in this kit are muted and lovely and the embellishments ~ divine!  As I was opening the Prima Debutante Stem I noticed how cool the packaging was and couldn't bear to just toss it.

Instead, I cleaned the sticker off of the back, cut a heart from the Doodlecharms cartridge at 4 inches and adhered it to the back with spray glue and cut the excess off.

Just look how pretty it looks with the Pink Paislee Expressions Chipboard Alpha Stickers on it. I love the distressed look of these beautiful letters.

I like to use my Xyron sticker maker on thin ribbon like the pretty dingle ball ribbon included in this kit. It makes it a snap to put down.

And just look how beautiful it all came together. I cant wait to use the rest of this beautiful paper and all the beautiful embellishments!

MPS NSD #12 - Critter-Licious

Wow - I did it,  I actually went the distance and completed every single challenge the girls at My Pink Stamper gave us!  Thank you to Robyn and all her designers for making this such a great weekend! MPS NSD #11 Colors of the Rainbow

Okay I've got to admit that this one was a little hard for me as I am not a "primary color" girl.  I actually bought this paper (not sure who it is by, sorry) for the reverse side and never used it!  Amy over at My Pink Stamper challenged us to use all the colors of the rainbow.  Here is my offering!

MPS NSD Challenge #6 ~ Child

Make something for or with a child is the challenge that Tracey, guest designer at My Pink Stamper put to us.  These pictures came right to mind!  The scuba dude on the Everyday Paper Dolls is adorable and the perfect fit for thes pics.  He is cut at 4 inches.  the title is cut at 3.5 inches from the Create a Critter cartridge.

MPS NSD #5 ~ Teacher Appreciation

Challenge #5 is from Karla over at My Pink Stamper.  This one was super easy for me as I have been on the TAW committee at  my son's  school for many years.  And I don't know too many teachers that wouldn't appreciate a coffee gift card.  ANd that's exactly what his teacher is getting this year.  Now I have a card to put it in!

Coffee Cup ~ Gypsy Wanderings (welded with heart) – red SU! Rockabilly, Bazzill White criss cross
