I Don't Garden...

I admit, I hate to get my hands dirty, but I love, love, love any thing with fruits and veggies on it!  Botanical prints, dishes, teapots, aprons, you name it ~ I have it!  So when I got this 6x6 Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Pad and Ready Set Chip Sticker Sheet from Lil Lamb's Boutique I couldn't wait to dig in!  First, I made this super simple card.  The base of this card is Bo Bunny Double Dot, but the rest is Cosmo Cricut.

I also created this cute, simple layout! So may times we think we have to go over the top with super fancy layouts, but with this adorable paper you dont need to.

A 12 x 12 piece of Bazzill Swiss Dot embossed cardstock and a red band of Bo Bunny Double Dot is the only other paper I used in this layout.  The strawberry is cut at 6 inches from the Cricut Paisley Cartridge.  The title is from the Pooh Font Cartridge.  The Chipboard stickers are so adorable and you get so many on this sheet. I think they are the perfect finishing touch to set off the sweet picutes of my daughter in her first bikini.  Well gotta run and get busy in my "paper" garden!

Webster's Pages ~ Beautiful!

When I saw this paper in the Webster's Pages~ Lullaby Lane~ Deluxe Scrapbook Kit available at Lil Lamb's Boutique, I just fell in love. I adore fairies especially vintage fairies like the one on this page.

Tammy at Little Lamb's puts together the most amazing kits.  This one had the most gorgeous Prima Flowers in it!  I accented the vine printed on the paper with some Satin Vine Ribbon (from PaperTrey Ink) and those beautiful Primas.

I cut the fairy out ot the 12 x 12 page, used some Tim Holtz Clear Distress Crackle and Rangers Distress Stickles to make it pop!  The crackle warped the paper a little after it dried,  so I ran it through my CuttleBug to flatten it out. I mounted it on a scalloped egg shape cut from the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge.

I dont know about you, but I hate to waste!  I always use the "negative" pieces of my pop dots to mount large pieces on my layouts!  This cutout was fairly large and I find this method holds larger pieces so much more securely.

Here you can see how cool the crackle looks on this piece!

I love Tattered Angles Glimmer Mist.  It comes in so many beautiful colors and adds just enough shimmer without  looking gaudy.  I used it on the Prima Leaves and Flowers.  The colors, flowers, images and shimmer all come together perfectly on this layout and make it a one of a kind keepsake!

Adhesive tip ~ hope this helps someone.

Over and over again, I  read on blogs that people don't use their Xyron sticker makers because of all the stringy, sticky bits that are always hanging on.  Well, personally I couldn't live without mine.  I love to use with all the smaller cuts from my Cricut, especially titles. Here's what I do before I pull the top plastic off.

Flip the entire thing ove and run something flat over it several times.  I use my Cricut spatula (it works devine).  Then I take my embossing tool (I have used a pencil also) and outline all around each cut, including all the insides and holes.

I really dislike messing with the Zig glue on little tiny pieces, I always end up getting glue every where.  So this technique really helps keep my projects clean. I know this is an extra step, but it really works!

Bazzill Basics Embossed Cardstock ~ Amazing!

I've had this cardstock for a few months just waiting for the right photo to come along and I am so glad I waited!  This picture of my darling daughter sporting her new haircut was perfect!

I cut the opening on the beautiful embossed red paper with my Cricut George & Basic Shapes.  I pop dotted the entire sheet on a piece of black Bazzill Swiss Dots (which is embossed also) and floated the photo in the middle. The title is cut from the Pooh  Font cartridgeand shaddowed in white to make it pop off the page! I cut a 1.5" strip from the black Swiss dot paper, stiched it in white heavy duty thread and added a big black button to mimic the sleeve detail on her favorite black pea-coat!  She loves this layout and so do I!
