My very first Cricut Design Studio .cut creation!

I am so excited to share with you all my very first creation using just the George cartridge!

Ta da! This cute ice cream sundae is my very first creation! If you would like to use this file feel free to down load it here! I laid it out on four different pages so you can cut each piece in different colors. If you do - please let me know how it cuts for you!

I think it would be even cuter with shading and sprinkles. I plan on using one on a sweet layout for my daughter!

Rediculously Tiny Things ~ so cute!

What is it about itty bitty things that make them so cute? We were just talking in our design group about things being redonkulously tiny or unusually ginormous, and how they make us smile. Lo and behold look arrived in the mail today from my friend Rebecca, this adorably tiny file cabinet! I just love it! And the catalogue that came with it gave my family the biggest laughs! We've found so many things that we must purchase from Think Geek.com!

Thank you Becs for the adorable tiny surprise! You're the best!

Cricut Cards - So Cool!

I watched a video at The Pink Stamper Blog on how to use the Cricut to make cards. I love Robyns blog and her fantastic tutorials! I couldn't wait to try this out myself! I was a Stampin" Up demonstrator for three years and stamped all my cards to this point, but I can definately see many more Cricut made cards in my future.

For your comparison!

When my youngest was born, the minute I laid eyes on him (besides thinking he was the cutest baby evah) I thought he looked like Jiminy Cricket. As he got older the resemblence lessened and then yesterday I took this picture!

And for your convenience

Am I wrong?

A Box in the Mail!

Don't you just love getting boxes in the mail? I just got a package containing 3 of DCWV new stacks! They are fantastic!
I got Nanas Kitchen
Garden Party
La Creme,
I could hardly wait to start a layout and thats just what I did! I am even including a hand cross stitched piece on this layout! So Fun! For a peek at these great new stacks go to http://www.diecutswithaview.com/new.php.

Ready for Spring!

Okay so I gotta say, I am over snow! For a while I was really enjoying the novelty of so much snow (over 60" so far this season). We are pretty arid in this area so thats a lot of snow for us. But this morning on the way to work I had the great white whale (our van) sideways TWICE! Plus driving on the compacted snow and ice is uber noisyand very bumpy! I am so over it!

On a happier note my creative juices have been flowing as the days get longer ~ bad thing is, all I want to do is scrap! My real job is seriously cutting into my scrapping time! Don't ya hate when that happens!

Wow~ This is a first!

I actually completed this layout in one afternoon and I even cooked for my family ~ twice! This one is the "sister" layout to the one I posted a few days ago. I changed the poem so it fits a girl layout and I am tickled with how it turned out! Both these pages were made with the Debbie Mumm Noahs Ark Stack! For a closer peek check it out on Ebay!

Lovin' my Design Studio!

I finished the layout for the poem I listed earlier and I just gotta say - I think I'm gonna get a lot of use out of the Design studio I recently purchased. It makes creating layouts a cinch (the hard part is still all the hand cut paper piecings). Thought you might like a peek at "Sweet Adorable Ewe!"

What a Sweet Day!

Happy Valentines Day Everybody! I hope your day was as sweet as mine. My boys came home with candy and flowers for me and my sons even brought a rose home for their sister! Then after lunch, while having a bit of a ginormous heart shaped chocolate chip cookie we baked for Daddy, we went around the table and told one thing we love about about each person at the table. My sweet, soft hearted Sarah actually welled up while we were talking! What a blessing my loving family is to me. What a great day this has been and to top it off I get to scrap tonight!

Inspiration!

So I am home again today - Rick made it out of the yard with the kiddos but recommended I stay put! Didn't have to tell me twice!

So I was playing with my Cricut Design Studio (which I love, by the way) and was cutting out some scalloped squares in white. All I could think of sheep, these silly boxes reminded me of sheep! So I stopped the layout I was working on and started a layout called "Sweet Adorable Ewe" and came up with this poem to use on it.

Adorable you,
Our sweet little boy,
Knowing you’re ours
Brings incredible joy!

The sound of your voice,
Your soft tousled hair,
Your breath, oh so sweet
As we rock in our chair.

A true gift from God,
We know this is true,
Amazingly sweet,
Adorable you!
Isn't it crazy ~ this morning I was stumped as to what to make and scalloped squares started the creative juices flowing again!

Digging Out

I think I'm calling this photo "Digging Out"! This is the second round of snow blowing and shoveling my boys have done today!

Mother Nature has seems to be off her meds and can't quite decide what she wants to do. It was 38 degrees and pouring rain yesterday and today it looks like this! They actually called a snow day for the kiddos and they are enjoying it (except the shoveling part)!

My Newest Favorite

Do you ever make something an think "I think this is my favorite evah?" Well this is my newest favorite evah! I just love the way it came together!

I used the DCWV Sweet Stack for a majority of this layout! That stack is so yummy and I kind of think I'm going to have to get another! Thank goodness this yummy paper isn't fattening.

And we wonder...

Yesterday while I was cooking dinner, my husband comes in the house and says "honey, I need the camera, you should see what the boys are doing!" So I get the camera and pop out the door and see this!

I ask my husband if he thinks this is really safe and his reply? "Probably not but they're having a blast!" And we wonder why men are like they are? The answer is, they learn it from their fathers!

Now in his defense, the boys were having a grand time. You could see the smiles on their faces a mile away. And, nobody died, so all in all a great sunday afternoon at our house!

Sweets from a Sweetie!

I am in a design group with a great bunch of ladies who I met in the Scrapbooking board on ebay! Our group is called In Our Paper Garden (search IOPG) and although I have never personally met any of them they have all become very dear to me.

Look at what came in the mail today from my cyber friend Valerie, this adorable crochet cupcake pin cushion! Thanks so much Val! Now I can throw away that tired old tomato that I have used for years!

We're trying to talk her into making some to offer on ebay so be sure to check out all the gorgeous offerings blooming In Our Paper Garden! Maybe soon you'll be able to pluck one of these sweet treats for your self!

Reminders

For years I have been trying to convince my husband to move from our too small country home to a larger house in town. I look at every house that I think will work for our family and make myself miserable for weeks after when he won't go and look at it with me. He always says the same thing, "now is not the time". The truth of the matter is he loves this place and would probably be miserable in town.

I found the perfect house last Wednesday, and of course I get the same reply "not the right time" and spent a fitfull, sleepless night wishing for that house. I know in my heart that he is right, the housing market is just crazy here due to an oil boom in the area, but I still really want that house.

Thursday morning I get to work and am going through my emails deleting the various junk emails but stop and open one that I normally would have deleted. It was a slide show supposedly on words of wisdom from the Dalai Lama. One slide keeps coming back to me. On it it said:

Remember, not getting what you want is sometimes a stroke of luck.

This simple statement reminds me that I need to be thankful for what I have. My dear husband takes such good care of me and loves me unconditionally, I have three wonderful children, a cozy little home with room to build, dear friends both near and far and freedom. I live a pretty worry-free life, thanks to my husband and the grace of God. I am very lucky indeed.
