Wild Card Cartridge ~ Lovin it!

Just got this Cartridge in the mail and I am pretty sure I am going to LOVE it!  This adorable card, made with Bo Bunny Double Dot from Lil Lambs Boutique and scraps, took me under 15 minutes to make from start to finish!  What fun!

I was pokin around Ebay the other day...

looking for something entirely different and found the most delightful retired Stampin Up set!  It is called "Fabulous Fruit" and I  love it!  The phrase is from a Clear Dollar set called Fruity fun.  The Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge has the greatest spiral notebook page type cuts in lots of fun shapes, perfect for adding some texture to cards.  Isn't this a sweet little card?

Fall in North Dakota

There are several things I love about fall in North Dakota, the crisp air, homecoming at the highschool, the sound of the leaves rustling across the sidewalks and dancing in the wirlwinds, big pots of soups and stews simmering on the stove, Halloween and Thanksgiving! But I gotta say my absolute favorite thing about fall is the sound of the geese honking overhead as they fly in their V patterns, returning to warmer grounds. It reminds me of my mom. She so loved to sit on their deck and watch them leave each fall. I miss her so and it makes me giggle to think that honking geese bring her to mind. It would have made her giggle too! Yep, definately my favorite time of year!

Fun with the Cricut!

Culley is running for student council and here's the poster we came up with for his campaign!  I used George and Pooh font.  Alas; I don't yet have Everyday paper dolls, so I had to (dare I say it?) hand cut the rocket! We finished it off by putting last years school picture in the rocket window!

I love High Heels

I just cant get enough of this new Hero Arts "High Heels" set!  Here's another fun card using this set.  I used black stickles on the polka dots and Crystal Effects on the heel to give it that patent leather look.

Love, love, love this stamp set!

When I saw this set "High Heels" from Hero Arts Press, I knew I had to have it! My favorite pair of shoes look real similar to this stamp and I couldn't be more pleased with how this card turned out.

The base of the card is Bo Bunny Double Dot, light pink patterned paper is from DCWV Sweet Stack, I used the Fiskars Threading Water Punch and the Cricut Graphically Speaking Cartridge.

Time Flies!

Where does the time go? The children are back at school and my baby turned 12 today! Here he is with his favorite gift. I am glad I made him do his homework before he started this lego set! He didn't finish till after ten, but your birthday only comes once a year, right?

Anyway, this little guy just loves football so, here is the card I made for him using Cricuts Design Studio and the Sports Mania cartridge. I find that a little planning in design studio makes whipping up a card a cinch! I put the blue frame in a Cuttlebug embossing folder and added a few brads for texture. The stamp is from the Out of the Box Sentiments set from Papertrey Inc

Family Vacations

You know, I remember going on family vacations and having a blast when I was a kid but as I got older, I often wonder how much fun it was for my folkes. Well we are currently on vacation and working our way towards Yellowstone and I gotta say as a parent I am having as much fun as my children are. Here is what we did today and I just gotta say it was amazing! I can't wait to get these pictures home to scrap them!

A few cards!

Have you ever noticed that one minute you have a ton of cards and the next, bam, nada????? Well that's what happened to me recently, so I've been putting my new stamps and newly organized paper scraps to good use and replenishing my stash of cards. Here are a few of my favorites!

Wow it's been a long time!

I have been so busy this past month, I haven't had much spare time, but have had a great time watching my boys play baseball. They were each on a different traveling team in addition to playing league ball, which my husband coached! Here's a few pics!

I used the Sports Mania and Beyond Birthday cartridges, welding the ball and the card togelther in Design Studio. I then layered the ball, frame and blue background in. I sure do love my bug!

Cutting Vinyl with the Cricut!

Okay cutting vinyl with the Cricut is soooooo cool! Here is my first project! These are the boys baseball #s for their traveling team! I put them on the back window of my van! Couldn't have been easier.

For this project I used:

  • 1 ~ 12 x 12 inch piece of white vinyl (printonit.com)
  • Sports Maina & Plantin School Book Cartridges
  • Design Studio
  • Settings: depth 3, pressure 3 and speed 3
  • blue painters tape (for transfering image to glass)

My New Scrap Desk!

I have been so busy lately that I haven't gotten to share my new scrap desk! We were putzing around Hobby Lobby week befor last and I came accross this beauty!

For those of you that know me, we live in a tiny, tiny little house and I was formerly tucked in a cramped space under the stairs in the basement. Now don't get me wrong - I was happy to have that little space that was all my own, but the work surface was too narrow to fit a layout on, so I was forced to stand and scrap on the deep freeze (what we won't put up with to play with paper)! This unit won't hold all my stuff but the stuff I use all the time is tucked into the drawers and close at hand! I love that the drawers pull out and I can just set one beside me to pick out what I need, the put it back. The fold out work surface is just the perfect size and my cricut is soo handy. This is the first photo I took, but will post more as I get things organized! I am still in the basement, but no longet tucked beneath the stairs like a troll! I am over the moon with this desk and having a blast getting things just the way I want them!

Funny Cat!

As you all prolly know, we live out in the country and in the country you gotta have a cat around the place. We, as good country folk, have a cat who we like to call Bob. I saved him from certain death when I worked at a vet clinic 11 years ago. He has been a really good cat but, probably should have been a house cat because he has very long hair, that gets terribly matted each winter. So each spring (yeah we have to wait till June till its warm enough at night) we take him in and have him shaved. His pink little body never fails to bring a smile to our faces. Please to enjoy " Nekkid Bob"!

Graduation Card Design Studio .cut file

I've recieved many invites this year from graduating seniors, from three different schools. I wanted to create something simple that I could use for all the cards but could personalize with each school colors. Here is what I came up with!

I put a little Ranger Stickles on the stars for a bit of sparkle and a simple bow of coordinating ribbon ! I lined them with plain white paper and left them blank on the inside for a personal message. I got two cards out of an 12X12 sheet of paper and they fit perfect in a 6x6 envelope. If you would like to download this.cut file click here!

Help me - I think I'm addicted!

Just got the cutest new acrylic stamp set in the mail yesterday and had to share the card I made. I think I am totally hooked on the clear stamps! I mean after stamping for years with ONLY Stampin' Up! products I was kind of a a SU! snob and wouldn't even consider any other stamps (I know, how dumb right?) but I am totally in love with seeing where I'm stamping! Who Knew?

This set is chock full of fun fruit! It's called "Fruity Fun" and I found it at Clear Dollar Stamps. PaperTrey Ink also has some unbelievably beautiful sets. I made the card below with their "Green Thumb" set. And of course my much loved double dot paper!

Challenge #8 Card Sketch

Her es my card for the 8th Challenge on The Pink Stampers blog in honor of National Scrapbooking day. The strawberry patterned paper is actually stamped with Papertrey Inks Green Thumb set.

NSD Challenge #6 - Patterned Paper

Wow - I haven't scrapped this much for myself in a long long while - thanks Robyn! Even my daughter likes the way this one turned out! She picked the theme and the colors!

I used DCWV La Creme paper and the Zoobaloo and Doodlecharms Cartridges on this one. The flowers are Prima Sprites.

Challenge #4 Mothers Day!

Heres my submission to The Pink Stampers #4 Challenge ~ Mothers Day. Feels so good to have my mother in laws card done and ready to send! Thanks Robyn!

On this one I used all Bo Bunny Double Dot Paper (except the white), Cricut Walk in My Garden and Storybook Cartridges! I get Double Dot Paper at Lil Lambs Boutique!

April showers...

... keep you inside! LOL Its been raining for two days straight and I love it when it rains but only if I get to stay home and snuggle up with a hot cup 'o tea, my fuzzy slippers and a good book! I am currently working frantically on trying to get the newsletter out at work and a bazillion other volunteer projects that keep me running!

Anyway I hope to be less busy in a month and start really using my Design studio and start scrapping for myself again! And please know that I will always share my .cut files here for all to use.

Took a break for some fun!

So, I had to place a huge order for supplies for this special order I'm doing and I just couldn;t resist this "Enchanting" paper from Pink Paisley or the Artistry flowers from Prima. I was supposed to be diligently working on my order but this paper was so yummy I had to whip some thing up! I am tickled with how it came together! If you love this paper and flowers you can find it at Lil Lambs Boutique! You can get a closer peek at all the elements on this page here.

It is 62 glorious degrees outside...

and I've got the windows open enjoying the fresh spring air. Rick is off helping a friend move and the kiddos are riding their dirt bikes. That leaves me in the kitchen scrapping! Does it get any better than this? I think not!

I have been crafting, really, I have!

I have been completely swamped with a local order for 12 years worth of scrapbooking for a young lady who is graduating this year. I have done over 70 pages so far and I am only halfway through grade 3!!! So blogging is the furthest thing from my mind! Not to mention the fact that I am gazing out my kitchen window at the river across the highway which has completely over run its banks and is closer to our house than it has ever been before! Which got me thinking - ALL my paper is stored in the basement! I'm thinking I might just have to be moving some stuff to higher ground, just in case!

Any way, I work at our local chamber part time, and every spring my boss asks me to create an invite to one of her organizations annual tea. This year they are doing a high tea and wanted something special. So I thought "self, why not see what you can whip up with the design studio" and this is what I came up with!

The teabag tag has their organization logo on it! I used Storybook cart. for the scalloped circle (welded in design studio), George for the circle and Joys of the Seasoon for the teacup! I used Stampin' Up! cardstock and stamps and the patterned paper is from Prima. I saved this project cuz I can so see using this basic design over and over and over again! Click HERE if you want to download this Cricut Design Studio .cut file. Will be back to blogging soon, God willin' and the creek don't rise! (anymore than it already has, that is!)

Spring is in the air!

It is starting to feel like spring here, finally! I've been cooped up way too long working diligently on a ginormous graduation special order and haven't created anything for ebay in two weeks! But I got I got a a bunch of Bo Bunny Double Dot (from Lil Lambs Boutique) and it has been taunting me "use me, use me", so I did! LOL! And of course, I used my design studio to set up all the cuts before hand, so putting this one together was so much fun! I love the wysiwyg format of design studio and that I can save projects for use on personal layouts for my kiddos. Any way here is what I came up with. It makes me smile! This make makes me smile!

For years I have been telling my daughter "no, you cannot have a dog" and recently told her the only indoor pet she could have was a finger monkey! It is fun for her to imagine owning one and we pretend that we have one on shopping trips andcar rides etc. (yes she is a teenager but we still like to imagine!) Recently introduced to the wonderful world of Amigurumi, I asked a friend to see what she could come up with and this is the end result. (thank you Annette) My daughter is going to love it and I can't wait to see her smile! Isn't she just the cutest thing evah?

Is It Spring Yet?

Snow is melting and I'm still on the strawberry kick! I'm feeling like super scrapper with the Cricut Design Studio! LOL I took the strawberry I created for the card I posted earlier (using the Doodlecharms Cartridge), enlarged it, added some windows and a door and cut it all out with my Cricut! I had never attempted a divided light window on any of my piecings before because it just seemed too daunting but now I have these little babies saved as a .cut file and I'm working on an Easter Egg house now! Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy!

If you are interested in this .cut file, just email me and I'd be happy to email it to you!

Prima Hydrangeas - Love Them!

For years I held off on buying the prima hydranges petals. For some weird reason, the even number of petals on each bloom threw me off. But I just recently got some from Lil Lambs Boutique and I am hooked. I love the way these flowers look when used in bunches and am so happy with the way this little wreath turned out!

And if you haven't tried Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist yet, you haven't lived! I love the way it makes primas look, kind of velvety with a slight shimmer. You can get that at Lil Lambs Boutique also!

Last Snowman of the Season?

I'm pretty sure this is the last snowman of the season but I had to take a picture because I absolutely love the way it turned out. It was so nice seeing the boys working so nicely together! I just love the stick "mohawk" they put on its head and the expression on his face is priceless!

Random thoughts!

First off, it can quit snowing anytime ~ I am totally over it! All I can think of lately is basking in the sun with a good book (I'm dying to read World Without End, Ken Follet's follow up to Pillars of the Earth) and sipping an iced tea. I don't do the fake tan thing but am seriously considering it. I am tired of looking at my blindingly white, fish belly colored, skin! Ahhh the joys of living in the great white north.

I also can't stop thinking about strawberries. They are horrible this time of year and I just want to eat them till I burst! Prolly goes hand in hand with the need for sunshine thing!

I was really TO'd this morning because I was really in the zone on a layout I'm working on (yes it is chock full of strawberries) and I had to stop and go to work! Don't you just hate it when your job interferes with your scrapbooking!

On the topic of scrapbooking I gotta say that I am totally in love with Bo Bunnys Double Dot line. If you haven't picked any of this up yet, take a peek. The texture is delicious and comes in such yummy colors! I get mine from Lil Lambs Boutique. I don't have every color yet but I won't rest till I do!

Strawberry Design Studio Cricut.cut file

I want spring to get here so badly (as I watch the snow softly falling out my window.) Winters last so long up here in the frozen north and I long for the sweet taste of summer strawberries. Since I can't have real strawberries here is the next best thing.

I am so pleased with how this .cut file turned out. I had found a cut file online but the seeds were all seperate little cuts and with my fumbling fingers, I found it impossible to get the seeds off the mat and in the right place on the berry! LOL This one has a black piece to layer behind the red berry, sooo much easier! I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the berry and welded the words from All Mixed Up. You can down load the .cut file here.

The card measeures 5.5 square and the berry is about 2.5 in tall. I used a combination of Stampin' Up! and Bo Bunny card stocks and Stampin' Up! grosgrain ribbon. My sweet daughter has already ran off with one to send to her BFF!

Thanks DCWV!

I've gone Green!

When I got my last shipment of the new Die Cuts With a View stacks, I seriously didn't think they could get any better, but I just recieved the Green stack in the mail today! I was actually sick at work from wanting to come home and scrap (and I only work 4 hours a day)! Made a quick pasta dish for dinner so I could get right back to scrapping! Here's my first layout (actually made 2, one for each of the boys) from this adorable stack, but I see many more in the future. Please to enjoy:
